Earning PDUsEarning College Credit OAEA partners with the University of Dayton to provide members with the college credit needed for state license renewal. Education professionals working toward a Master’s Degree, or a Master’s + 30, may want to attend the full conference and register their time with the University of Dayton to receive one graduate credit. UD offers one graduate credit for $175.00. Take the following steps to receive college credit for your attendance at the full OAEA conference.
Standard Professional Development Units (PDU’s) While most educators need PDU’s (formerly known as CEU’s) to renew or upgrade their license, not all educators need college credit. To assist educators with advanced degrees, OAEA has developed a Standard Professional Development Unit request form to make it easier for conference attendees, workshop presenters, and OAEA state and local leaders to receive credit for hour spent in professional development. Once verified, OAEA professional development units can be submitted to local professional development committees for application toward licensure renewal. If you do not need professional development units to apply toward you PK-12 licensure, consider adding the Standard PDU form to your professional portfolio to document the professional work you have done to assist you in finding employment, or to receive promotion or tenure. Follow this simple process to receive verification of your OAEA leadership and/or knowledge sharing.
OAEA is committed to your professional development needs. This is one of the major perks of your membership! Take advantage of it!
