Ohio Art Education Association
OAEA Journal

Call for Submissions: The OAEA Journal invites manuscripts relating to all aspects of art education for its Summer 2006 issue. The journal is intended for a broad audience including classroom teachers, university educators, and students of art education. The OAEA journal welcomes empirical, historical, and philosophical manuscripts that explore both the practical and theoretical dimensions of education in the visual arts including, but not limited to, interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum and learning, art criticism, studio practices, pedagogy, social and cultural issues, or other areas of interest in visual arts education. The journal encourages interdisciplinary studies and research that inform art educational practices.

About the Journal: The OAEA Journal is a publication of the Ohio Art Education Association. During the last fifteen years, the Journal has featured articles of theoretical concern for classroom art teachers, supervisors, museum educators, art therapists and college art educators. It is published twice a year but occasionally one double issue on a special theme or topic may be published once during the year.

The Journal provides a forum for a broad spectrum of issues concerning art teaching and theory which are, and perhaps should be, thematically related to the interests and concerns of its members. The Editors invite all concerned art educators and others who are active in the field, to submit articles for publication. Writing for the Journal allows each of us to make a vital contribution to the field of art education.

Preparation of Manuscripts: Submit four (4) copies of each manuscript along with a self-addressed postage-paid envelope for return of the reviewed copies. Authors should consult and follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 5th edition, (2001). Manuscripts (approximately 3000-5000 words) must be typed, double-spaced, and have appropriate margins. The title page should include the manuscript’s title, author’s full name(s) and institutional affiliation if applicable. To facilitate the review process, authors’ names and affiliations should appear only on the title page. Attach copies of figures, tables, and illustrations to each of the four (4) copies of the manuscript. Do not send transparencies, glossy prints, or original artwork.

The Journal's editorial board will assess each manuscript. Manuscripts that are accepted for publication may be edited and returned to the authors for revision.

Submission of Manuscripts: Questions regarding the OAEA journal can be directed to the OAEA President, Sherrie Dennis at laluna23@gmail.com
